    Transformers-Movie in summer/autumn

remember the transformers? that plastic cars, jets and stuff, which you can "transform" into a robot? well there's gonna be a film of them in cinemas in summer (USA) and autumn (UK&europe). it'll be one "few" comicbased movie that we were punished with through out the last years

    "leading actors" will be:

-optimus prime, an oldschool Peterbilt (?) Truck
-ironhide, a black GMC Topkick Pick-Up Truck
    -retchet, a bright yellow-green-gold-whatever Hummer H2 airport-ambulance-firebrigade-something
-bumblebee (yes!), a yellow '09 Chevy Camaro Concept Car
-jazz, a darkgrey hardtop-version of the Pontiac Solstice
-barricade, a policecar-style painted '07 Ford Mustang, which will be an interloper of the evil transformers (decepticons)
    -a F22 Raptor Fighter Jet

all cars/trucks/whatever in speced up versions

    Tagline: Their War. Our World.
Plot: Dueling alien races, the Autobots and the Decepticons, bring their battle to Earth, leaving the future of humankind hanging in the balance.

director is michael bay (Bad Boys 1&2, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor)
    leading (human) actors are:
-Shia LaBeouf (which is a guy, obviously evident from the name... )
    -Megan Fox (Hope&Faith)
    -Josh Duhamel (Las Vegas)
    -Rachel Taylor (ehm... she's blond!)
-Tyrese Gibson (2 fast 2 furious)
-Jon Voight (which we have to thank very much for not watching tele in some september evening of 1974, cause 9 months later his daugther was born - which is Angelina Jolie!!)
    -Anthony Anderson (Scary Movie 3&4)
    -John Turturro (Brother of "Monk")
    -Michael O'Neill (The West Wing)

obviously their will be much explosions, action, rumpus, CGI and stupid patriotism to obsure the thin story, which will be clearly evident cause of the previous performance of the cast & crew.

PS: if you missed it, the good cars a all from GM, the bad ones are Fords...

I like that they haven't tried to make it all cute and aimed-at-kids like, because it shows that the directors DO have a mind of their own. But there is a sickening amount of product placement ... so much so that the storyline has been warped from the original concept for the sake of getting all of this placement in, getting them a nice tidy sum.

I've been in touch with one of the SFX guys working on it and I'm pretty interested to see the result because they're using some radical 3D surfacing techniques to pick up light refractions. I'm not impressed by what I've seen in the trailer though, but the final production renders I've taken a peek at look a bit more promising.

Yes, all this product placement from GM makes the movie look bad. It just looks like one big advertisement. However, the trailer does look promising. I'll have to take a look at it first.

i think i like the more square, cut, looking robots from the cartoon, than the more new age, sleek looking ones, and the fact the cars are not all that cool makes it not as fun, stick a veyron in there to make it exciting lol

I was thinking about that. However, GM doesn't make anything in that size.

Seing it's american cars only, it should be the Kalos, which if I'm not mistaken is sold under the Chevrolet badge there...

I don't think it's sold in USA. It could be sold in Latin America though. I've never heard of the Kalos. Could be wrong though.
