    Peugeot SR1 Concept 2010

This here is the Peugeot SR1 hybrid 2+1 seater roadster concept that will be displayed for the first time at the upcoming 2010 Geneva Salon in March. The significance of the SR1 lies in its styling as the French automaker revealed that it foretells the stylistic design trends for its future models.

In short, this concept car showcases the firm's new design language that abandons the chunky shapes and the much criticized gaping-mouth grille of the current Peugeots in favor of more elegant and sharper looks that hark back to the Pininfarina-era Pugs.

    Welcome back, Peugeot!

What I'll say is that this is a step in the right direction, though this doesn't say much as style-wise, Peugeot had hit rock bottom.

They look like renderings to me, so it looks like someone likes changing things up a bit.

Looking good, but that rear seat should be changed to a parcel shelf. It's only useful if you have no legs.

And it looks Aston Martin-like but not exactly. I would prefer a hardtop. To be honest, the current Peugeot lineup doesn't even look all that great. Step in a right direction indeed.

    Looks nothing like a Peugeot.

    And thus, looks tolerable.

    Peugeot 408 CC/Coupe/RCZ?

I loved the "old"/current Peugeot, but its going to be interested how they are going to make this into the 10x(x), 20x(x) and 30x(x) series!

That's because a lot of the carmakers think their hybrids and EV's need to look like an electric shaver.

There are hard points to a design that are completely different with an EV or Hybrid vehicle than to a conventional one.

As such the designs will be somewhat homogenous until such time as a radical step is taken.

The radical step taken by Peugeot is to (rightly) abandon a stylistic path that would see the entire car be made out of black grille plastic.

There are still recognisable Peugeot elements; the (albeit concave) faux F1 bonnet line for instance, but there is old school Peugeot in there as well; Headlights that are slitty and add width, rather than gloopy and add weight.

It's not going to win any originality contests but look at the Fluence concept from Renault a while back. Styling wise is was a much more muted turn of events from the wackyness that had permeated much of Renault's styling, nowadays there are moments when the taste level is just right.

Fingers crossed Peugeot can regain a sense of class and forget this dark period.

I guess that's an euphemism for awfully horrible.

Great styling. But I have even checked the thread's name once more, as I supposed I have opened a new Aston Martin concept. Other than that, I like it very much.

Regarding Peugeot's current lineup, it's way worse than the one from three years ago or so - they have become pretty shapeless lately.

Couldn't agree more. This design is very fitting for a new Aston.
