Holy crap! I know you are supposed to change it regularly for a reason, but dear god! This is like my friend who thought buying from those "far cheaper" (a.k.a., sh*t gasoline) gas stations was a good idea for a car that used premium.....

haha i don't feel so bad about changing the oil every couple of months now

That's nasty.

The original thread is epic, the defense mounted for the owner is high-larious.
That's just wrong... God couldn't have invented BMWs, he was busy that day with Ferrari. Every Italian knows that.
Kinda does the same thing to the engine that it does to human hearts...

Brevity=Truth.
A good thing for us Porsche drivers.
Never own more cars than you can keep charged batteries in...
Is he sure that it was missed oil changes and not some young punk upperdecking his engine at night time? Because it seriously looks like someone's been taking shits inside there.
Its scary how common these clueless people are. I remember when I bought my C class, the guy that had it before me had let the oil go to shit too. There was no way that I could've checked it because those engines don't even have dip sticks. It informs you on the computer when the next service is, and everything appeared to be in tact. I bought the car based on how clean everything was (it was mint), and how beautifully it drove. It was when I took it to the mercedes shop to have it checked out that I learned the horrible truth. They brought me in the back just to show me how bad the oil situation was. I needed to have 2 oil changes mixed with flushing agents in close kilometer succession in order to clean up the horrid mess that the last owner(a$$hole) left me with. Lesson learned never to buy from a used car dealership that doesn't have the first clue about the cars they sell. Paying the extra couple G's to get a certified pre-owned car is worth it, because you're getting something good. The C still turned out to be a great car after all. It was just a bit of a scary hassle getting her sorted, but it turned out good.
In the case of the BMW here, the only person I sympathize with is the guy that gets it next. The idiot that got it into this mess should have bought a Cavalier instead.
