    The MX5 is RWD, and widely renowned as one of the best handling cars on the market.
    The Fiat is widely renowned for falling to bits.
    Thanks for all the fish

    i'de say the fiat, because it gets 2 more horses than the miata, with a smaller engine!

    That doesn't mean anything, because it is a bigger car therefore considering
    Bhp/tonne
    Fiat => 130/1.056 = 123
    Mazda => 128/0.949 = 135

    The lesser mass of the MX5 also makes it more responsive when accelerating, turning into a corner, and braking.

    The Fiat is front wheel drive, and made by Fiat.
    As a result the dynamics are slightly suspect (the name "little boat" is very apt). And you won't be able to enjoy the huge performance advantages of those two extra horses when the electrics have packed in (again).

    The Mazda is rear wheel drive, and made by Mazda.
    As a result the dynamics are class leading, with many "best handling" awards to its name. And you should be able to enjoy the fine handling well past 100,000 miles with out major problems.

    I am consantly bemused as to why people are so reluctant too look past mere figures when trying to compare cars, and think that 2 hp will make all the difference, or that the extra 0.1 second saved getting to 60mph makes one car definitively better than another.
