I loved this car in it's prime. Maybe it didn't succeed to a certain level but it showed a technical level of genius and innovation that just doesn't get spit out of a computer program like today. Great shot of a great car.

    thanks for sharing

not an entry, but this is the same P34, when it had some trouble negotiating the Corkscrew in 2008.

This was taken at the St Michaels Concours where I had the distinct pleasure of judging for the first time. Yes, it was in the Blackhawk Museum but now resides in Pennsylvania.

1938 Delage, DB-120S, Aerosport Coupe, Letourneur & Marchand
Jown W. Rice Sr., Pottsville, Pennsylvania
This rare Delage carries one of the finest and most elegant bodies ever to grace a Delage. It was displayed at the 1938Paris Salon. The eight cylinder engine has inline overhead valves and the 4.75 liter block delivers 120 h.p. This sporty and elegant coupe spent most of its life in Europe until 1988 when it was offered at the Sotheby’s Automobile Auction in Geneva. It was purchased by the Blackhawk Collection in Danville, California. Shortly thereafter, Blackhawk restored it to the highest standards. In 2008, it was purchased by the current owner and resides in the John W. Rich Collection of Pennsylvania. It has won numerous awards including “Best in Class” at Ocean Reef in Florida in 2009.

I'm thinking about starting a thread in the event section of all the photos that I took that day. Many nice cars on the field.

    regards

    Yup!
Same P34, but in 2010 there were mechanical issues which prevented a finish. That sneaky Saudia Williams came in first this year.

It is a beautiful one indeed, the rear window kink gives it away as an L&M and the white walls looked familiar. The fin is spectacular for its days.
Looking very much forward to that thread...and just for my records, do you happen to know the chassis number of the Delage? (I only got poor shots b.t.w because it is black, and Blackhawk does not allow tripods to be carried in the museum)

it should, being a ground effects car. 2008 was the first year out for the P34, it is the last one build, and has probably never run in period in its current livery, but with the white First National City cowling.
