Last week Paris was the classic car capital of the world courtesy of the annual Retromobile show. It proved to be another record year with the 48th edition of the annual classic car show attracting over 130,000 visitors. They were treated to a spectacular show with, in particular, Ferraris taking centre stage. Among the many highlights were a pair of Ferrari 250 GTOs, a Porsche 911 GT1, the ever fascinating Dome S101, two McLaren F1 GTRs, the road-legal Porsche 917 K and a fully stacked Ecurie Ecosse transporter. In good Retromobile tradition there were also more obscure cars that grabbed or attention like a 1.1-litre twin-supercharged eight-cylinder Salmson Grand Prix car and a six-wheel Dakar racer. We explored the vast Portes de Versailles exhibition centre to capture all the highlights for our 190-shot gallery that serves to illustrate our concise report.
Also included in our coverage are the results and galleries from the RM Sotheby's, Bonhams and Artcurial auctions that were also staged during the Retromobile week.
