The A Class isn't an MPV, its a B class car, one smaller than VW Golf/ Ford Focus sized. The Galaxy is an entire meter longer, 10cm wider and 22cm taller. So not really directly comparable.
I don't have any experience of the A class, but I have heard it is hardly the best ever Benz.
I have spent a week with a 1.9TDi Automatic Galaxy. Not fast, but not horrifically slow either, even with 5 people and all their luggage.
It basically is the VW Sharan with different badges, it had the VAG engine, and most of the interior was by VAG, and was pretty soild. The dials and steering wheel seemed to be the only obvious Ford bits.
It really wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.
I have no great desire to own either car though.

i've never driven/taken a ride in either, but i'm choosing the a-class, since it's a benz, and i don't trust ford. i think the a-class looks better
