Lamborghini Vs Ferrari down the years

These two have been at it ever since the first Lambo.....and it only keeps getting better... so, which one would you take out of each era?

    '60s: Miura vs 275 GTB
    '70s: Countach Vs Daytona
    '80s: Countach LP Vs Testarossa
    Early '90s: F40 Vs Diablo
    Today: Murcielago Vs 575 M

    Take yer pick...

But there are other cars that would beat some of these too.

    '60s : the 275 GTB/4

    '80s : the Testarossa
    '90s : the F40
Today : The 575 Fiorano . The murci is a superior machine but it lacks desirability. Its no longer an italian car .

    Why not make of it:
Lamborghini vs. Ferrari vs. Maserati down the years.

Because cars like the Maserati Indy and Bora were also not bad at all.

F40 VS Diablo is not a fair comparison at all.
Until you prove otherwise, I shall assume you are an idiot.

    Hi amenace!

I totally agree with you on the choices above. I find there is something a lot more desirable about a Ferrari compared to a Lamborghini. Although Lambos are great cars.

But over the years these the Ferrari models mentioned above have been more legendary than the comparitive Lamborghini ones

    '60s: Miura (fantastic looks!)
    '70s: Countach (extreeeme looks!)
    '80s: Testarossa (supercar icon)
Early '90s: F40 (the next supercar icon)
    Today: Murcielago

About that today choice: that's a hard one to call, I just think the Murcielago is more a supercar than the 575M, the 575 is more a luxury car I think.
A comparison between the Gallardo and the 360 would be fairer here.

    comparisons are a bit askewed

    may be better like this
    350/400 GT vs 275GTB
    Miura vs Daytona
Countach vs 365 BB and/or testarossa
(countach had a very long life)
    Diablo vs. 512TR
    Murcielago vs 575

    My pick would be
    275 GTB
    Miura
    Countach
    512 TR
    575

I agree that Murci has become a non-italian car, but may be if the problems at Fiat continue Ferrari might become another brand of GM. (may God forbid to belong to the same group as Daewoo)

    Guys???
    Are you crazy???
It is the first time I hear that 575M is better than Murcie...
Even in the Fiorano version this car is a total mess...It seems that the F****ri made so many changes to the car in order to make it good for road and they forgot what makes a car a real Italian supercar...
In the contest of Autocar (the magazine), where there was available a Murcie and a 575M, do anyone knows what the result was???
Sorry for the f****ri fans but Murcie was first of 16 cars and 575M was..............LAST OF THE 16..........The comments are yours...And I don't want to see anyone writing that AUTOCAR writes stupid things cause the opinion is not only from the journalists of the magazine but also from Bennett and Needel (BTCC Drivers if you don't know that)...Phil Bennett said that if he had given all that money to buy the 575M he would have teard a lot to forget what a stupid car 575M is...

With the other I agree that F40 is in one other category from Diablo...
And between Callardo and 360...It seems that Lambo will be the winner again...
    Cheers.

According to his postscript Hakk does not appear to be very Ferrari friendly. Anyway, may be the comparison between the 575 and the Murci is not correct, as these are technically totally different cars. May be compare it with the Enzo? Anyway in all comparison a personal taste will largely influence the decision. If we were to only quote respected magazines, than we might as well close these forums (fora) and concentrate on reading the gospel elsewhere.

Unfortunatelly for F****ri 575M (as 550) are the "category" car of Murcielago & Diablo...That means that 575M had lost its goal that was to win Lamborghini...(Something that the company had goaled some years ago when the 550 was better than the -difficult to drive- Diablo)

And I said about AUTOCAR not cause something else but the comments of popular race drivers like Bennett and Needel...That was my only point...

To the comparison between Enzo and murcie your point is far away from fair...Enzo, like F40 and F50 are in a category of very special cars...In the same category as McLaren F1...All this years I have heard a lot of people compare the lambos with these F****ris cause all of them are supercars...but supercar is also the Viper...So why not compare th Viper with the F****ri???
    Hope you get my point...
    Cheers.

P.S. Murcie is for sure more beautiful than 575M...

interesting to see that the 575M now consistently outclasses the Vipers in the latest GT races. Apart from the occasional Diablo, Lambo had not much to show there. Are we waiting for the first murci to enter? As far as the F1 is concerned the production has been so limited (less than 125 ??) that it is far more exclusive than the Enzo, of which another 50 will be built to meet demand. The F1 in its time did not meet the F50 during races, because Ferrari decided to not further develop the F50GT, although the potential was there.
