    Bring back the historics

I was watching the supercars on tv the other day... compared to the old group n historic touring cars they are so boring. the series is too controlled, even down to ride heights???!!!!
i reckon they should bring back another manufacturer, or model of car, just to make it interesting. personally i thing that the organisers are afraid to because another manufacturer could crap all over the current cars. It is good racing and is good to see the Minis and cortinas beating the V8's. Have a look at the pic, what is better than an XY GT sideways??

They dont appeal to me. Technically the produce pretty good power for their size, although MAzda has down rated the spec on the latest RX8 or whatever its called. Apparently they use plenty of fuel though. And they sound awful. Give me a V8.

the first rotaries did use a horrendous ammount of fuel, but mazdas worked on that will financial help from ford. v8's can sound crap as well, holden needed a duel pipe exhaust to get the gen 3 sounding decent compared to what fords v8's sounded like. the 355 and 360 ferrari v8's sound pretty crap as well, i reckon

Anything with too much supression sounds boring. Listen to a race prepared V8 vs a race prepared rotary and you get the picture. The louder the sound from the V8 the better it generally sounds. The reverse is true of the rotary. I havent heard a Ferrari in full flight but I imagine there would be some people looking for you after that comment. The latest Mazda rotary is still fairly thirsty according to one of the reviews I read.

Yeah but rotaries dont compare with V8s for HP. They are in the turbo 4 or NA high po 6 league and I know what Id rather have.

Invariably they power smaller cars. Except the Mazda HX rotory abortion. I think that proved the point.
