If the distance between Williams and Ferrari remains the same for next year, no Williams driver will challenge Ferrari.

Button next year shouldn't even worry about Ferrari. He should have his eyes on Webber and understand that Webber is the first person he has to care about defeating. Beating Ferrari and Schumacher would then only be a consequence or something to be acheived later. But he must have it clear that Webber is the primary target. And, from what I've seen of Webber so far, it seems as if he'll do all he can, including those mind games and not so fair teamwork, to beat Button or anyone 'til the very end of his career, so Button better be smart.

The British press has today reported that the main reason behind Button choosing to leave BAR could be down to money, more specifically performance bonuses. They speculate that when he first signed his BAR contract (when BAR weren't exactly the high flyers they are today) he was given a performance incentive of an extra £30,000 per point scored! They clearly hadn't planned for Button to be doing so well this season, as it means that they owe him £1.83 million so far this season, which could quite conceivably be a whole lot more by the end of the year. Rumour has it that BAR tried to half this bonus package early in the season when they realised how well Button was gonna do this season. Button didn't like their attitde and walked. (Note this comes from the good old British press so it should probably be taken with a large pinch of salt!)

Also, they reckon that if the CRB and Bernie Ecclestone decide to rule in BAR's favour and Button still refuses to race for them, the likely outcome is that they will revoke his racing Super-Licence, leaving our Jenson up poo-creek without a paddle! Button seems to have voluntarily placed himself between a rock and hard place. Lets hope it all gets sorted out sooner rather than later and it doesn't end up over-shadowing the rest of the season.

And the government says we should be reducing our salt intake!
Stop the presses! Ban the tabloids! It is for the (mental) "health" of the nation!

Of course the reason is money.
    Why is Schumacher at Ferrari?
If he loves racing, surely he'd be happy racing in any car.
However, with Ferrari, he has an (almost) unbeatable car, and wins all the time.
    What do points mean? Prizes!!!
£60,000,000 worth of prizes to be precise.

Williams is a bigger team than BAR, they are more likely to produce a better car in seasons to come, and hence forth Mr Button can acrue a larger slice of the pie.
    Thanks for all the fish
