If you want it mainly as a road car, with occasional events go for the white one if it is sound enough.
It is a classic, and with a bit of tlc and gentle fettling over time, you might even be able to make a profit on it in a few years if you wish.
If competition is the main priority, I'd go for the other quattro. You have more scope for making a project out of it with the lower purchase price.

No one likes the Isuzu, huh? Is it because it is too rare and unknown? I have driven it and it has some balls. Build quality isn't as nice as the Audi, but it's lighter, more nimble, suspension tuned by lotus, and has a nice BOV sound. Plus, it's cheap. If i wrecked it (first time racer) it wouldn't be as big a sin as the Audi.
The Audi is pimp-ass though.
