well the MR2 has been out of production for years, they just renamed the MR-S to MR-2 Spider to cover it up.

...Because it's the new model, Karrmann.
MR-2 Spyder is the Third Gen MR-2.
I suppose its too much for you to know all of toyota, just the "Good" Bits...

I read in a 95 issue of Road & Track that the MR-2 was to be discontinued and there was to be no predecessor.
Well, their is, sorry dude.

well I think that Toyota should of just let the MR-2 Die a legond instead getting a completely diffrent car in its place. the MR-S was doused by Car And Driver, they thought it was a piece of shit. it is cramped slow, impracitacal.
They should of let the MR-2 die a legond and let the MR-S stay the MR-S
Your not really getting it, are you.
They are the same named, same type of car, think of it like a Honda CRX to Del Sol change.

it was unveiled as the MR-S it went into production as the MR-S, It was renamed the MR-2 Spyder after the origional MR-2 lef the scene, I thinik it is a poor excuse to keep it alive.
If the MR-Spyder came with the more powerful, Celica GTS engine. With 180 hp it would have had more fans. But the best MR-2s were the last of the 2nd gen turbos. Wow, I'd take a used one now.

thank you, the celica is pathetic. so pathetic, that it comes from the factory "riced" out. instead of tacky spoiler and boddy cladding, how about working on the engine? remember the adds about the cop pulling over the parked celica and the dog running into the parked celica and the ad's tag line was "looks fast." well, that's sums it all....looks fast and that's about all.Originally Posted by jcp123
