We get the MK5 Golf/TDI/GTI and I believe R32 as far as I'm concerned, along with the Rabbit? The engine options over here are probably different to those of Europe because of strict American emissions standards. Don't quote me on all of that though.

Hmm, don't think so. Strict American emissions standards are what (I think) keeps cars like the EVO FQ-400 and TVR out of America.

The US has stricter emissions on some of the gases (NOx, which is why TDI's are non-existent this upcoming year), while Europe has stricter standards on other gases (HC and CO I believe). That coupled with crash standards = no cool cars.
