Did you tell her to say that?

    Remember the golden lowering rule.

To the people questioning Adam's preference for the 8v head over the 16: Maybe he just wants to give his car a certain character - it's often the case that a "higher-spec" part or model actually spoils the balance of a car or ruins it's character. Case in point: The V12 E-Type Jag, which IMO is nowhere near as nice as a Series 1.

Some say that the Golf GTi and FWD Audi TT (new-shape) are "better" cars to drive than the AWD R32 / Quattro TT.

The only thing I have to say is that the obsession with "lowering it" is a little unhealthy (even if most of the comments posted on UCP are only as a joke), and the car wont drive anywhere near as well as one that's been set-up properly. I could understand if this were to be a "trailer queen" show car, because none of this would matter, but I wouldn't want a daily driver to be this compromised for the sake of lowering it and having a joke.

While you may have a point I don't think you picked the right example. 8v to 16v you only have 8 valves more. However Series 3.8/4.2 E-Type to Series III V12 E-type, changes quite a lot more...

Furthermore his car is already modified.

I just meant that he might prefer the character of the 8-valve.

You're all wrong, it's not a question of character or a question of preferences... he's just being cheap.

Actually it's out of sheer laziness and cost. I'd have to swap over too much stuff and basically build a totally hybrid engine to run a 16v. And I don't want to go boosted, so there's not as much of a point.
