I'm looking for the 17's. They're 17x7 and 17x8.5 and look like this. If you've got a set cheap, I might be interested...

Yeah, I know which ones you want - I just thought I'd ask about the 16s, just in case.

$50. Short throw linkage. 50% throw reduction. Mine. So smooth now.

Longer arm = less effort to go the same distance. Shortens the throws.

    She's dead. Again.

So I went racing today. It was my first time at the track. I ran a 17.3@80mph my first time out. Then it started getting hot. Ran 17.5 and 17.4. Car ran like a champ all day long. Then leaving, I thought it'd be fun to leave my mark on a stretch of pavement outside the track. Dumbest. Idea. Ever.

The smell of burning trans fluid filled the car, and that tell-tale white smoke was coming out the back. I hate VW trannies. Seriously.

So I'm fairly confident there's a crack in the bellhousing, because my clutch was slipping like it was covered in fluid. I took it easy the whole way home. Sigh... Guess we're taking TJ's Racestang to school for a while...

Nice runs, when you gonna run for pinks, maybe you'll get some car lengths and be able to use the bottle.

Sucks about the tranny tho, can you fix it at school?

Unfortunately not. I'm having it towed home today and it's going to the place I had the last one done at. Last time out it ran me $1200.

I parked the car outside last night and this morning there was a huge puddle under the car. It's definitely not fixable.

Aw man, you shouldn't of stressed the vintage car like. This shows that Honda's reliablity is miles ahead of V-dub, there are old CRX's 89'- toys that ricers hammer around and I never heard or seen them get f'd up, especially the tranni sector, of all things.

But to even suggest that dubs are more reliable and/or durable than Civic's is ridiculous mate.

My car's not vintage. And VW transmissions are a known weak point. I gambled and lost. There was a Honda there that threw a piston through the head. Guess Honda motors suck, huh?

That's because Honda isn't really all that popular over here. Most likely because they only recently started to sell somewhat decent diesel engines and because they've always been expensive. How many of the new civics have you seen on the road ? Not much. (rightfully so as they are ugly as sin IMHO)

Honda is popular in the US, they sell a lot more than VW over there AFAIK.
