Older race V12s. If you like the rumble of a big V8 and think it's intimidating. Compared to the screechy howl of a 330 P3, it's like the bark of a Rottweiler against the bellowing cries of a Cerberus, the three headed demon hound that guards the entrace to the underworld. This is the difference in sound, one you take notice of its potency but the other you feel fear and chills run down your spine.

My favourite performance sound would be from one of the Twin Turbo Callaway Corvettes. The president of our local Corvette club owns one and it sounds like a cross between the intimidating rumble of a V8 with the whirring of a Harrier Jump Jet taking off.

The other less performance-orientated sound I like is from my old man's 1995 Landrover Discovery Tdi. The sound of a turbo diesel makes me feel like I am driving a prime mover.

The 2002 mustang has a sound that would make even Karrmann think differently of Ford's. The Panoz Roadster (which also uses a mustang engine) has a simply incredible engine tone, the most muscular sound from a car I have EVER heard.

i dont know about that. they 'scream' too much, i prefer the deep rumbly tones for a car.

A supercharged V8, or an old, 1960's/1970's muscle car V8. A V8 of some sort or another...

Cases in point of a supercharged V8 are:
    1) Mustang concept 2005
    2) Ford GT
    3) Mercedes McLaren SLR- boy what a noise!

    Ordinary, unsullied V8s:

    1) Any muscle car- just watch "Bullitt" for proof.

    An Audi RS6...

    Hahahah...'Bullit' proof...hahahaha.....

Saw a Dodge Viper GTS today, sounded like a ricer with a fart can. Pretty disapointing, I didn't think Vipers sounded THAT bad.

Nope, but then again being an LMP it had better make the ground shake

yeah, but even though the performance of the LMP01 roadster isn't great, the sound makes up for it and then some
