nice to see that David Piper has resprayed his P2/3 in green (just like his 917). Here is the car in red, (the young boy standing next to it is your webmaster, a long time ago) and the Daytona, owned by Dutchman Pieter Boel, is also a regular guest at other occasions, as shown here.

Yes that's a Copper bobtail, but what is the silver one #25? Is that a Portuguese special?

I should have been there to test my new digital camera but a friends marriage kept me at Porto. Anyway, I went for a ride in the wet in a friends M5, so not everything was bad.

That silver car is in fact a portuguese production. I can't actually remenber it's name but i've allready been next to it.

Lets hope Gomes remembers it's name.

    woops...

I guess I was too distracted weeping because I couldn't be there. My Fiat would be stretching it's legs. This way, it's just sat unused for another weekend...

I'm going to investigate this car...

Vila Real is in the north of Portugal. This was a fantastic, very big (7,150 kms), and very dangerous urban circuit.

There have raced great legends like Moss and Piper.

It's end as came by the hands of local people who used to hate cars. Vila Real commerce as suffered with the end of the races. And so has the portuguese touring championships, that could well be over by now, such is it's lack of interest.

Changes over the city mean that it will never be a race circuit again.

    1989 was it's last year.

to see some very old photos check this:
