Have you ever topped a car out?

And of course by this I mean...

Have you ever personally brought a car to the point where it simply would not go any faster? Please respond with (yes/no) and the applicable vehicle.

I personally have not done such crazy things.

EDIT: Please include the achieved speeds as well

    Most of them

    But not the A610.
At 165 mph our Scottish motorways have slight bends which actually become fecking tight corners. Bottled it , 1000 revs to go and 165 on the clock and losing rear grip. A quick squeeze of the buttocks prevented any embarrasment

Don't get much chance to get any of the REALLY fast cars to top out as trackdays don't have long enough drags to let the speeed build up much over 150. Of course the track is whre ALL attempts to go fast shoudl be done

I topped out my Civic, not a lot of speed only 115Mph. Wasn't that crazy, the car was pretty stable at that speed with stock wheels. Had a lot of revs to go and a lot of speed according to the speedo which gets up to 150Mph, but the top speed is limited.... and it would never reach that speed anyways, from 110 to 115 took like 20 seconds.

In a '90 Mazda 323 hatckback. Maxed out at ~105 MPH. I've gone faster but never topped out like this, floored for 5+ minutes.

My oldies ,HD and EK Holdens. It would have been miles per hour and not many of them. Most of my later ones would have been too scary and Im too sensible. Really.

The Golf tops out at 120. Only did it once, and it was a little scary. The car gets a weird shake from around 95-105, then it stops. Erm, that and the Mk3 isn't the most aero-efficient thing in the world...

Yes, my '79 Olds Firenza with a small-block V-8 at about 128 mph calculating from the tach since the speedometer only went to 85. It was on a totally empty divided highway in Michigan just after sunrise on a Sunday morning. I was on my way up to my grandparents' cabin and couldn't resist seeing what it would do. It was a nice car -- seemed like the faster you went, the more stable it became.

Attached image is a car just like the one I had.

150kph(about 95mph) in a soft top jeep wrangler. the shaking and road noise was incredible, the box-like shape was so un-areodynamic that it couldn't go any faster. i never topped out my car, in case something happens to it(the jeep was a freinds)

My Saturn has a limiter at 115mph. I've hit that many times. My step-dad's Monte Carlo shut off at 108. Did that as well. I know I've hit other limiters, but I honestly can't remember what it was in.
