    Well as it turns out my mechanic brother in law who is now teaching at trade school had two days scruitineering duty (as part of his job) the cars in the rally. The GT40 was an original, apparently owned by someone in Adelaide, and has its original panels removed for the race and replaced by copies. Another guy pulled up in a semi with a MErcedes Gullwing, some single seat Porsche race car, a new S/C Merc of some type and some other thing. He and his business partner race the Porsche and Gullwing and he flys in fro around tha world his two best customers to race the other two. (note to self, I'm in the wrong business).
