The first thing I would do is to disengage the system, whereby your seat starts shaking if you change lanes without the use of the indicator. As long as it is mandatory on the motorways in continental Europe to keep the right lane, there is no need for indicating that you are going to that lane after having overtaken another vehicle. Allthough this seems to be mandatory in some countries, I change lanes without indicating, after all, why should you indicate that you are obeying the law to keep to the right?
And talking about indicators, I also always have mechanism disconnected that brings the indicator back to a neutral position after having completed the turn. It is greatly annoying to see the indicator switch off at moments that you don't want it, so I am keeping manual control all the time. The noise is loud enough not to make me forget to switch it off.

That must be the strangest automotive habit I've ever heard of!!!
If I had not that automatic disconection, I'd be always pointing somewhere!

the citreon c4 is pretty good espcially as it is going to be the new citreon rally car there hopefully will be a special rallye sport edition or equivelent.

Actually they are using the C2 as a junior rallye car, the C3 is hopeless in that respect, the planned WRC version of the C4 will never see competition as PSA will withdraw from WRC at the end of 2005, and till that time Citroen will use the all conquering and extremely reliable Xsara.

As a non-European, I was surprised by the non-indicate practice when driving there. A $ fine awaits if done here. Depressing an indicator stalk isn't really that hard to do, keeps others informed of your intent, and is a hell of a lot less inconvenient than winding down the window & sticking your arm out in the rain, as I had to do in my old 1955 Beetle
I know it's drawing a long bow, but why indicate to stop via brake lights, when you are obeying the stop sign law?
