Exclamation Australia to make the 'Vette

Since GM has decided to steal our beloved Monaro and produce it in the States as the GTO we were Australian members were wondering what the thoughts of our American UCPers would be if Holden were to locally produce the Vette and badge it as a Holden...

I wouldn't have a problem with it, seeing how gm owns holden, they can do what they want with thier vehicles. Plus, since its on the other side of the globe and we still have the vette here, it doesn't effect me at all.

thing is theyre taking our Hero car and making it elsewhere and sending it back to us thus they ARE stealing it! So imagine if the situation was reversed and you had aussie made vettes there, how would you feel?

That's right, The Monaro has a history here as long as the Vette and GTO.

Some people would have a fit no doubt, I wouldn't. If Holden made the Vette, then it's build quality would improve I understand how you guys feel though, but as the other guys said, Holden is owned by GM, so in their eyes it's just business as usual. That's what happens when pencil pushers and not enthusiasts run car companies.

If your asking if holden just re-badged the vette, then have at it.
If your asking if holden were to be actually making the vette in aussie land, and its production stoped here in Kentucky, i wouldnt care as long as it didnt effect anything about it being sold here. Like if it were to be priced higher, or loose any kind of performance than i would be upset. Other wise have at it!

i'd be sad to see the Monaro leave, but i to this minute, dont see the problem in making the OZ, NZ, UK, Middle Eastern and South African market Monaro's still at the Elizabeth plant and let the US make their GTO however they want. We'll still have Zeta underneath the whole VE range and the US already wants to take the Zeta as well

What if Australia changed the essence of the Vette and made it different to what it is now, when the monaro came out in Australia it had no scoops(rice) in the bonnet, the latest one that appeals to the american public does. The Monaro was a clean, subtle design now Gm USA have riced it up .We have HSV to do that here, look at the new concept Ram6 its bloody ugly, scoops, spoilers etc YUK
