The day my wheel came off

On saturday i was driving along at approx 80kph when all of a sudden the was a scraping noise and i saw my front left wheel come flying off and roll across then road and down into a gully, about half a second later there was the distinct feeling of the car being tilted and a loud scraping noise, i ran the car up a sloped gutter to get it off the road and observed that my wheel had come loose and i had lost it fortunately a mate of mine pulled up 5 mins later and volunteerd to find my wheel for me while i waited with the car for dad who id rung for the jack, spare wheel and new nuts... so as of now i need a new brake rotor and the cover thingy for it, let this be a lesson to all of you... when youre doing a wheel rotation and someones hurrying you cause they need to get their car out... ignore them and make sure you check everything when your done

hahah - this is a funny thread.
That sucks, good thing you wernt hurt, theres a lot of bad things that could happen when your wheel pops off at 80 .

BTW: Im glad your dad could lend you a set of nuts.

Reminds me of Graham Hill's famous quote:

When you are being overtaken by a wheel you know you are in a Lotus.

Colin Chapman did'nt like him for that.

welcome to UCP, but don't you think that such a bold statement requires some explanation?
