That isn't a solution to anything - it probably consumes more resources building the electical side of things than you'd save.
Biodiesel - the way forward. Its fuel you can grow in your garden, and it doesn't add to the ammount of carbon already present in the atmosphere.

You do realize that the taxes put on fuel are necessary to maintain the roads you drive on, right? Get some sunflowers/ rape seeds - make sunflower/ rape seed oil - put in car.How do you grow Biodiesel?
Only works with diesel though, but diesels are becoming the most popular power source for average cars.
Also - you can grow it, and it doesn't add to the ammount of carbon in the atmosphere.
Why isn't it being used now? Because BP, Shell and ExxonMobil don't have many fields of rape or sunflowers.

Reminds me of a book I read recently. Where every car on the highway is controlled with a sattelite in space. Drivers don't even know how to use steering wheels. Steering wheels are only used for illegal drag races.

I heard you can run an engine on Vegetable oil. IMagine that-we wouldn't have to rely on the Saudi's to sell us oil, we could produce it domestically, and it doesn't contribute negatively to the atmosphere!
