do you know for a fact that theyre not street legal? Does the DMV really know the difference between a RS and an imported 911?
VIN's tell all about a car. They will find out, and if you falsely register it, they can and will take it.Originally Posted by johnnyperl

didnt think there would be very good communication between DMV and registries in other contries. just curious, do you know from personal experience?Originally Posted by Quiggs
yes, they dont meet noise/pollution/safety regulationsOriginally Posted by johnnyperl
yes they do, like quiggs said the vin will tell them that it is illegal

The VIN has a series of numbers that tell where the car was made, what options it has, and what number in the production run it was. The options on the car will give away if it's a package that wasn't federalized.Originally Posted by johnnyperl

There are conversoin kits available. Foreign Cars Italia had a silver GT3 converted to GT3RS specs with everything down to the sticker for the porsche badge. Only problem is they didn't paint it white so it still looks like the cars just had stickers and GT3RS wheels put on it.Originally Posted by my porsche

Which is better that way!Originally Posted by laxplayer98
It is better if you are looking for an original GT3 RS in, let's say, 20 years. There will be much converted cars and many owners will say "my car is original". You can see things like that at the 911 Carrera RS today. There are much more converted cars then real ones.
This not only a problem of Porsche. Some guys also convert Ferrari 250s from Long Wheel Base (LWB) cars (which are cheaper in many times) to Short Wheel Base (SWB) cars... It's sad but true...
