What sort of things can be discussed here?

In the Miscellaneous forum? It says "Off-Topic Discussion" but I've seen some people flaming folks for posting external links for discussion, so I guess I want to make sure I'm entirely clear on the rules of this particular section of the forums.

What can we talk about here? What sort of posts are acceptable? I've read the rules but didn't see anything there pertaining specifically to the "off-topic" discussion and whether or not it had to be car-specific. I would assume it to be things that aren't inherently offensive, etc, and anything "off-topic" goes, but I might be misunderstanding.

Can someone fill me in? I'm new around here and don't want to get on people's nerves for posting/discussing things that shouldn't be.

anything weather it has to do with cars or not is up to you. Its just annoying when someone joins the site just to advertise there. Whatever you do dont advertise for something or post porn. thats about it, oh and do a search before posting so you dont "repost" :P

You can be off-topic, just don't overdo it. Don't bring up STD's, or pornography and such, and don't be too excessive such as in KennyKnoxville's case.

But seriously ... STDs can be hereditary (ie. Aids). Does that mean we can't talk about cancer?

And if you have sex with someone who has bubonic plague, does that count as an STD?
