Doesn't really matter if I seen those links or not because they just copied exactly what there is on the Logitech site. The G5 is wired so it has already been outta my list since it was launched. Price isn't a matter as long as I get something that I'll be happy with for years. Looks like the single built-in battery of the MX1000 doesn't help me much.....last night on MSN, Jakg told me that I need a G7 when I told him the amount of shooter games I play.

Well it hasn't die yet......but now it became much more battery consuming and lacks precision, plus it is heavy and sticky and the battery cover ran away. The silver paint is coming off, the soft plastic thing on the side is falling off too, I took it apart 3 times during the past few months to clean the inside just to get it working. Poor old thing.

Heck no, my PC is right next to my arm, so you can imagine the wire getting tangled up and messes me up when I play games. With a wireless mouse I can even lay in my bed and use it like a remote control when I watch movies.

I guess I'll go for the G7? *pulls out $120*

I would go for whichever shape fits your hand the best. The G7 and the MX1000 have totally different shapes, which may be uncomfortable for your hand. I used to have an MX700 (same shape as the G7) and I find that they are not as comfortable anymore when compared to the MX1000.

BTW, G7 is can be had for under $70

You don't need a mouse that expensive. A wired mouse for 30 dollars is better than any wireless mouse on the market.

Weird.......I find my G7 has a comfortable grip, although nothing's soft. Believe me, it feels like a wooden shift knob since it has a shiny and smooth surface. The MX1000 does have a comfortable grip, but this G7 feels better when it comes to intense gaming that requires a lot of movement for a long time. I can't believe it took me 15 minutes to stop shooting battery packs with the mouse, it was quite fun.

Not really, you know sometimes debate threads gets quite intense and requires a lotta clicking a typing, so it's always good to have an extra battery.

Nice thread, but why the comparison between only mice from Logitech.

From my point of view, I’m also a hardcore gamer. I despise mice without a cord. The problem with wireless is (and I have bought a MX1000) is that it shuts down your connection and when you move the mouse it reconnects. It maybe a small interference. But it Annoys me. So I got a refund on the MX1000 and bought myself a Razer Diamondback with cord.

Its way faster and less heavy, And I cant see the problem with the wire, because I have a USB hub on my desk.
