They still make Rear proj. TVs? I'dve thought most manufacturers had moved on. But $1500USD is great for a 46" HDTV.

Try looking at the TV at a wierd angle. You'll see that it won't show that great in a rear projection TV. However, Sony is trying very hard for that not to happen, so congrats anyway.
Are Americans still with that big-screen TV in their heads? I mean, for $2000, you can get a nice 37" Sharp LCD which has a clearer and brighter picture, plus it's cooler...

Whats with all the LCD and plasma madness lately I prefer a "normal"tv because of the better picture and much much better lifetime LCD/Plasmas last about 5 years.normal ones can run for 10-20 years
By the wayt i have a 15" Daewoo.
I'm not ready for LCD or Plasma yet because TV signal here comes on the traditional format and those TVs show european format (which is wider)... which makes for distorted image or black lines on the side.
I'm not an early adopter, so I will wait until prices and technology have settled. I don't even own an i-pod yet , I'm waiting for a nano with 8 or more gb.
About size, yes, bigger is better.
Zag when they Zig
I have a 19" Toshiba with a built in VCR and it's great
Same thing happens with cars here...Originally Posted by Wolf03
Haha, I have a 48" (124cm for European people). But it's not even HD ready (we bought it 2 years ago), so the picture quality looks like shit - except for the DVDs .
On my room, I've got a 85" And today the television downstairs broke down, so maybe going to buy an LCD TV. But still, I think an LCD tv is quite a lot money for the size you get. Good quality though. And they look great even when they're not on!
We're going to get a 52" DLP television tomorrow or the next day... We've had a rear-projectioni 54" for about 3 1/2 years and it's nice, but everything I've read about the DLPs is fantastic and they finally lowered the price to something I can live with -- about $2200.
