    I hurt myself today
to see if I still feel
    I focus on the pain
    the only thing that's real
    the needle tears a hole
    the old familiar sting
try to kill it all away
    but I remember everything
    what have I become?
    my sweetest friend
    everyone I know
    goes away in the end
and you could have it all
    my empire of dirt

    I will let you down
    I will make you hurt

I wear this crown of thorns
    upon my liar's chair
    full of broken thoughts
    I cannot repair
    beneath the stains of time
    the feelings disappear
    you are someone else
    I am still right here

    what have I become?
    my sweetest friend
    everyone I know
    goes away in the end
and you could have it all
    my empire of dirt

    I will let you down
    I will make you hurt

    if I could start again
    a million miles away
    I would keep myself
    I would find a way

State of love and trust as I busted down the pretext
Sin still plays and preaches, but to have an empty court, oh
And the signs are passin`, grip the wheel, can`t read it
Sacrifice receiving the smell that`s on my hands ... hands, yeah
And I listen for the voice inside my head
Nothin`, I`ll do this one myself

Lay her down as priest does, Should the lord be accountin`
Will be in my honour, make it pain, painfully quick, uh huh
Promises are whispered in the age of darkness
Want to be enlightened like I want to be told the end ... end, yeah
And the barrel stays aimed, oh, directly at my head
Oh, help me, help me from myself
And I listen yeah, for the voice inside my head
Nothin`, I`ll do this one myself
Oh oh oh Myself ... myself

    Yeah, yeah ...

    Hey, na-na-na-na, hey that`s something
    Hey, na-na-na-na, hey that`s something
    Hey, na-na-na-na, hey that`s something
Wanna back, back it away, yeah
And I listen, yeah, for the voice inside my head
Nothin`, I`ll do this one myself
Oh, ah, and the barrel waits, trigger shakes
Aimed right at my head,i want you to help me
    Help me from myself

    Haha, I love that line.

And my_porsche, sounds like you and I have similar desired career choices. You could always work your way up to restaurant management, not as daunting as opening your own; while doing photography on the side. That's pretty much what I've been thinking of doing... or you could become a food and restaurant photographer, kill two birds with one stone.
i was waiting on a moment, but the moment never came. all the billion other moments, were just slipping all away. i must have been tripping, we're just slipping all away. just ego tripping.

You could be the guy that Burger King calls in to take pictures of their new hamburgers. They always look really good, and then you go to the actual restaurant and it looks (and tastes) like garbage.

    Where'd you hear that?

Also, I want to become a photographer (Maybe sports, maybe freelance, maybe news haven't decided and I am in school for it right now)

I was always under the impression that your employer would help pay for some of the $20,000 of equipment, unless you are freelance I guess.

I could be wrong I really don't know anything about what I am getting into other than I like it and I will be poor because pretty sure they don't make too much.

Do what you want to do - the worst thing you can ever do is regret the past.

Sports Photography is a fairly specialised field, no? I'd suggest just going into regular photography and as you get better jobs try manouevering into that line of work.

Best person to ask about those things would be someone at your schools. The person that tells you about professions, options, further educations and stuff. I´m sry for not knowing the english name for that ...

I doubted a bit at first as well and he helped me a lot !!! So far i dont regret it at all

Don't get so excited by all the money wedding photogs make. When I was buying film the other day at a local camera shop, the film the guy recommended to me was the stuff he said he uses to shoot weddings. And he works in a camera shop. Not a whole lot of photogs make their income solely from shooting.

Go and check out the Pro Digital forum at dpreview.com and read all the threads about people asking about becoming pros and you'll see how hard it is these days. You need a business plan before you need gear.

    Apparently someone can: http://www.jeffascough.net/main.html
This photographer shows how even a suposedly boring subject can be made interesting and amusing to shoot.

He may have two business (selling photography material and shooting weddings), but that doesn't mean it's not a very, very profitable business. It is, believe me.
There are some wedding photographers that don't earn much money. But that's just because most of them use the easier way to shoot. They don't really care about how nice and original their photos are. When they shoot they are bored to death and keep doing the same old ridiculous photos. I bet Jeff Ascough doesn't need to sell photographic material to help him make a living.

Money can't buy you friends, but you do get a better class of enemy.
