    TechArt Cayman GT

    Hi all,

Been back at the bench some playing with the new Fujimi Cayman S kit. After some quick measuring discovered the Tamiya GT3 body parts would fit on it nicely and they look alot like TechArt's kit.

I sawed the bottom 3/16" or so from the GT3 front end and glued it to the Cayman body....the contours of both are so close it didn't need any filling, just a bit of sanding to bring the two shapes in tune.

I sawed the sideskirt from the break line down off the Cayman and glued a back-up strip of plastic to the inside of the Cayman body...then glued the GT3 skirts in place.

Sawed the rear lower corners from the GT3 body and glued them over the Cayman's rear corners just to bring the body a bit lower back there.(the TechArt kit doesn't have these.

The bodywork is a little deeper than TechArt's. The rear spoiler is just a mock-up, still looking for something not too big for it.

These rims will be used but the lip will be chrome and the spokes semi gloss black.

Not sure about body colour yet.

I'm glad to see you back in action Dino!

So, you're goin' for black-face rims? I'd say it blends in best with white, silver, or black, but then again, its your project. Just offering a suggestion

Finally got some paint thrown on. I mixed Ferrari's Verde Mugello with silver just for a bit of a tint. The pics don't show it's true color but when finished the outdoor pics will be a better representation.

Decided to use Carrera GT wheels and they are painted a gunmetal metallic color.

Seat faces and door panel strip sre Acryl's Sloth Brown.
