First picture, Terrano '96 Granada-Dakar R50
The second-generation Terrano was launched in September 1995. In January of the following year, it participated in the TOTAL Granada-Dakar Rally 1996 (aka: Paris-Dakar). This car is a replica of the machine which entered in the same rally by the Nissan Private Japon team. It was produced as a display car for the autumn 1995 Tokyo Motor Show. In the rally, the Ishihara/Saito team came in 60th place (9th in the T1 class), and the Takeda/Sugimoto team came in 62nd place.

Second picture, Terrano '00 Rally Raid Mongol R50
Since the 2nd Rally Raid Mongol tournament in 1996, Masahiro Hasemi made consecutive appearances with the R50 Terrano, winning the 1997 and 1999-2000 events. At the 2000 rally (August 14-21), which was a 3,583.10km race starting at Ulan Bator, Hasemi won with a 4-hour lead over a Russian Jeep in 2nd place.
