the S2000
it's nearly 7 years old now but i still think it's the freshest and most beautiful of the choices available
some would say that it's high reving nature makes driving around town difficult but i say thats what gears are for, and just going around town i wouldnt want alot of torque at the bottom end, btw i'm talking about the 2004+ models, the 2000-2004s really were gutless below 6000 ... the extra 200ccs didnt improve the top end by much but throughout the whole powerband it's become alot more civilized without becoming too tame
the handling is superb dare i say on par if not better then the boxster's
and the fact it's gonna be disappearing soon :'( makes it that much more special
i'm in love with this car really so i'm kinda biased, the boxster S would be my next pick, then the Z4 or MX5 (Z4 if this comparo is price independent and MX5 if it was)
Boxster S.
Test drove the base Boxster last year and loved it. The extra power of the S, combined with mid-engine design makes it the sports car to beat.

Boxster S is fantastic, but I'd prefer driving the Z4 M.
It isn't quite as common as the Boxster around town.

The MX-5 is probably the cheapest one out there, while the Boxster is on the top end. What gives?Originally Posted by RobPorsche
I would choose the BMW Z4M because I love the great looks (great physical appearance) of the BMW Z4M and I've heard the Z4M is great to drive. Also, it is a BMW. The Porsche Boxter S and the Honda S2000 are great as well.

these are great convertibles, imo (even though i'd never drive a convertible)
for me, though, the honda and the mazda win.
the three germans lose out for me due to image, reliability, and looks.

Simple really - this is a bad thread.
SLK 55 AMG for me anyway.

Exactly, if you throw every option into the Boxster that it can have (this was an exaggeration), then that money worth of options is probably how much the MX-5 costs to begin with. Not including the price of the Boxster itself. Sorry if that was bad wording.Originally Posted by NSXType-R
Oh, I gotcha. All the options add up already to an MX-5. Yeah, the Boxster isn't a very cheap car compared amongst these four.
S2000...no turbo for me plz...na will do just fine
Hard decision, depends on what else I got in my imaginary garage.
Qeustion: What convertable will you choose if you could pick ANY?
I'm talking about a car you could use everyday.
All I need: Audi S8 & Porsche 911 Carrera S
Hmmmm some are missing from poll, like the Crossfire, 350Z, or the SC430. But I'm still all for MX-5.
