Question can exclusive exotic cars be made just for you?

So lets say a company stop making a certain type of exclusive production car eg bugatti sells all of their 300 and areveyr slod out. now if you have the money then is it possible to have them make that model for you for the right price?

Anything is possible at the right price.

an existing model can be redone of course if the price is right, but I suppose that a one-off model might be more difficult not only because of the additional costs, but also in view of obtaining street legality (crash testing?), which also differs in various countries.

But, say you want a Fiat 124. They don't make them new anymore. Or do they? Well, you could always buy one of [ame="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lada_Riva"]these[/ame].

The answer to your question is yes. Ferrari has made in conjunction with Pinninfarina and Zagato 575 GTZ, 612 Kappa, P4/5 as well as a special 430 and 599 (I can't remember what they're called of the top of my head, but they're on this site). I'd suspect Lambo, Rolls-Royce or Bugatti would do a custom coachwork car as well if the customer was willing to shell out the proper amount.

I think the honorable mention here should go to the Sultan of Brunei. He had a multitude of cars made for him but the one that springs to mind is the Bentley Silverstone, which I presume was a re-bodied Arnage. Anybody know of any that don't share their mechanicals with any other car?

I think Bugatti wouldn't modify the Veyron's bodywork.
First, not even Mansory dared to do it.
Second, that thing is running on a thing red line, the project is too extreme to allow for much modifications.

BTW, the Sultan of Brunei's brother (the real responsible for that huge amount of car, together with his son) had a modified Ferrari F512M, which was identical to the donor car from a technical point of view, except that it was already equipped with a fake sequential gearbox like those you can find even in a Citroen C2 now.
That gearbox was made by Williams of F1 fame.

As far as I know that's the most relevent technical modification those cars has, apart from some form of tuning in some cases.
Oh yes, he also got an S-Klasse in estate body with the same engine you could find in the Sl73 AMG, or in the Pagani Zonda if you prefer.

Those custom-built Ferraris had one-off bodies but I'm pretty sure that beneath the body shell they were largely the same, if not identical, to the to the base car. Bentley has an in-house division called Mulliner which does bespoke interiors for exorbitant amounts of money.

As far as a multi-national automaker producing an entirely one-off vehicle for a single client, I think the EcoJet, built by GM for Jay Leno, serves as the best example.

Those Ferraris were made on the basis of existing models that passed the crashtest. In order to maintain that status, their were certain limitations as to what could be changed.

How nice, to see the Lada being mentioned in a topic on exclusive supercars. Finally it seems to get the appreciation it deserves.

If I remember correctly, the Sultan also had a 300SL Gullwing made by Mercedes Benz. The company dug up the original machine tooling that was used in the 1950's, in some warehouse in Germany.

Not to mention the assortment of Ferraris (Bolide, a.k.a. F50), Bentleys (Dominator, a.k.a. land rover based SUV), Aston Martin one offs, etc.

I guess if I had a country that's slightly smaller than Delaware, that literally bleeds oil, I wouldn't know what to do with myself either, being the car lunatic that I am.

Basically what the OP is getting at, I think, is that he's very wealthy and wants Ferrari to make an Enzo

Just send me a couple million and I'll have a talk with them, no guarantees though

I think he should send them money directly here in Modena, don't you think?
I'll be there next Monday, will get a good deal (if you sent me the money, otherwise the new last Enzo will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine...).
