well i mean the car has got to be lighter then the enzo, it's tiny, not to mention the enzo was designed to produce alot of downforce so that it gets no loft and tons of grip through the corners...in a straight line i actually did expect the outcome. My question is, why do they make the SLR so big if the engine can fit in a SL 55, they are both 5.5 liters..

    1) Safety - They have to worry about crumple zones which requires space. I doubt this has any crumple particularly crumple zone so if it were to crash, it's likely he wouldn't be very alive

    2) Centre of gravity - The SLR is mid-front to give it a better centre of gravity, which makes it handle better but requires the engine to be further back.

    3) Supercars are meant to be big and brash.

    4) SLR has a larger cockpit I presume

Envious. Wish I could do that. But im glad to see that they at least use the cars, and made a video of it,so that i can see. I'd want one just so i can participate in the gumball rally.

I bet the enzo owner did not see that coming, unless he knew what that car was hiding.

    Yeah i agree...

anybody know what a 'spare' SLR engine goes for...? not to mention the engineering work it takes to put the baby into the smaller body, etc... i wonder if i could fit an SLR engine into the body of a C230 Kompressor coupe... maybe in the back

Hey, it's a mini-SLR that goes faster and has a folding roof!!! I love it, although the owner should look into modifying a little bit more to hide the engine completely. Wish he had airbrake and turbine wheels too haha.

It seems strange to put the SLR engine into the SLK, when Kleemann offers Kompressor kits for the 55 version. They're "only" 596hp, but If you've got the money to burn on an SLR engine, I'm sure you could get them to tune it up further. Still...god damn that thing was fast!

just to clear this up - he owned the SLK, liked it, so he bought the SLR, but it was two big, and the SLK ws now too slow, so he swapped it, and it just fit with a few bonnet "mods"
