    Peugeot 1007 RC Concept 2005

    PEUGEOT 1007 RC

The recently revealed Peugeot 1007 is already causing a stir with its innovative interchangeable interior and versatile electric sliding doors. With the design of the original car giving it a unique blend of practicality and dynamism, the designers embarked on an exercise in styling that has strengthened 1007’s sporting personality still further.

The 1007 RC sits purposefully upon a set of 18" alloy wheels with a "forked" design and a "chrome shadow" finish. Through the wheels, black lacquered brake calipers with the Peugeot name painted in white are visible.

The headlamps are differentiated from the standard car by a distinctive chrome trim, while the grille itself is circled with chrome beading. The door mirror deflectors have a carbon fibre finish and an RC badge is located on the door, appearing as an extension of the sliding door rail.

At the rear, an aerodynamic black spoiler is fitted to the roof. At the bottom of the rear bumper skirt, there is a grille with a chrome-plated surround, from each end of which protrudes a chrome-plated exhaust trim.

The passenger compartment is a distinctive blend of leather and alcantara featuring a leather-lined fascia panel with visible stitching that also features on the steering wheel and door panels. The roof and fittings are trimmed in a deep grey alcantara finish. The central console has a carbon fibre finish, while the air vent trims are brushed aluminium. At the top of the front seat backs there is also a badge incorporating the RC emblem.

To complete the exercise, three special and naturally interchangeable Caméléo interior trims have been reserved for the 1007 RC; the first is "Titane", with seat and door inserts and rear armrest covers in perforated grey alcantara with matching fascia panel trims in the same material. The second is red "Fusion" trim while the third is "Cadmium" - a vivid yellow.

To power this 1007 RC, the 1.6 litre 4-cylinder engine with double overhead camshafts and 16 valves offers a power of 105 kW or around 140 bhp. The wheels and suspension are from the standard 1007 range.
