Calais is by far the looker of the VE range imo and its a real shame that GM did not choose that external treatment for G8. In particular the larger Calais tail lights really lift and balance the design. But I don't mind the modest, integrated G8 spoiler, much more attractive and design-sympathetic than those lairy things we get perched atop VE bootlids

Pontiac is finally doing something right, however I still don't think I could drive it badged as a Pontiac. I'd order an Aussie spec HSV bumper and be on my merry way. Also, 6 speed, good on them.
i was waiting on a moment, but the moment never came. all the billion other moments, were just slipping all away. i must have been tripping, we're just slipping all away. just ego tripping.
We must keep the bogans happy........
I concur that the Calais is the best looker out of the VE range. it seems to be quite a common trend - I was in love with the original VT calais when they first came out - it just looks right.
I will say it's quite restraint from the usual "eleven billion vents and fibreglass everywhere!!1!" style Pontiac was known for in the 90's.....but it's still worse than what they started off with.

Well, news today form Bob Lutz is that the G8 will not in fact be the end of the Commodore in America as Fritz Henderson hinted at earlier, but that it instead will live on as a Caprice! Cop cars too? Who knows!?
from a man who should have retired and then changed his mind, I won't believe him until I see one on the American soil.
