They kept the body and paint modifications to a minimum. That is the only nice this I can say about this car.

It has a big fugly wing. I wouldn't actually call it minimum.

But it's a big fugly car so I guess it's alright.

at the 2004 racing debut in Imola i had the occasion to look at this (standard) car for a long time without ropes or people around it, and i have to admit it's too big to be good looking, but i wouldn't define it "fugly", at all. the Corsa is ten time better, i swear (last year Terra di Motori in Modena), but finally, i made the decision, and i bought the 1:43 scale model of both the street and the racing (2006 #1 Vitaphone Team) car, since each of them has something properly peculiar to supercar and what a car need me to attract me.
but the racing wing on the road car is...too much.

It's pretty ugly. It's a strange looking car and I don't really like it. I have always had mixed feelings about it. It just isn't good looking enough to be a Maserati. IMO.

I actually rather liked the way the standard MC12 looks in terms of shape. I just wish the road car had the all blue paint job as the GT car.

in a way, i have to say it reminds me of the Kamshin or the original Ghibli and others of those years...it's a matter of details.
it's true the MC12 is totally different from any modern Maserati, but it has the personality of some of the more interesting of the older one. it's more complex and difficult to understand than what i thought the first times i looked at it.

Do you think? I think a modern Ghibli or Khasmin should be like a 599 GTB. The only supercar Maserati ever made, the Bora, was even different from the norm. It was quiet and civilised witha comfortable and luxurious interior.

The MC12 on the other hand is just a Ferrari in drag. And that isn't a Maserati. It doesn't even look good.

i think that's the only real problem of the MC12

btw, i was referring to the Khamsin and Ghibli only from the point of view of exterior design, both overall and details, not considering the kind of car they were.

True, but at the least, even Ferrari are surprised to know the car they purposely kept below the Enzo can still outrun it.
