If you should see a man walking down a crowded street talking aloud to himself, don't run in the opposite direction, but run towards him, because he's a poet. You have nothing to fear from the poet - but the truth.

Did you wear those crazy blue-blocker sunglasses again?

I went searching for some BA V8 Supercar info and got led here from Google, had a look at the rest of the Aussie cars Wouter had archived and signed up to make comments, where i first met crisis. 2 days after the forums were setup, i joined up to that. That was all 3yrs ago now.

I'm sure this thread's been done countless times before..but here we go again.
Was a member on sc.net until they changed their forum lay out and lost all threads and images in the forums (stoopid). Gt1street left and came here, he showed me the path...I had to walk it alone...while being chased by giant cyber monkeys of course.

3 years ago, I still had a boss. So on one normal day at the office, I was browsing through porno pages and heard the boss comming in. So I thought: "Damn! I need to find something to dissemble from what I'm doing." I googled "car page" and there it was... (Is this story stupid enough? Better than the google version, right?)

Then, some time after I got hooked on UCP images and write-ups, I opened the page one morning and there were the news about the forum opening. I registered myself, had a little chat with Pieter about the Fiat 850 Coupé that I have, and that his father also had, and then I was fired.

Then I forgot about UCP, until one certain day in wich I was watching the updates on the main page and realised: "Hey! I'm a member of this forums. Let's check it out!". And I got severely addicted.

I was already completely dependant when one day, not long ago, things got even worse. I was flamming someone on the forums (can't remember who or why) and got a PM from Wouter with the title "Mod". And I thought: "Ouch! He's going to spank me!" But no. It was a coincidence and he was asking me to be a mod. This confirms that mods are chosen for their "dictator profile".

Now I know some people on this pages that I regard as friends, though I never saw them, because I talk to them so much over messenger and about so many things, that it's impossible not be overcome by their simpathy and strong carachter. I can't imagine myself loosing contact with some of them, ever. This his how much UCP took over me. There's just no way back now!

    Wouter, you're a misguider!

The normal way, started out with me googling for images, ended up in here a couple of times, but didn't think much of it at the time. Bookmarked the site but had control over my visits. Started going trough the car data base, you know how it goes. First normal mainstream models, but moving on to more and more exotic brands. My friends who were with me in the beginning all of a sudden didn't know what I was on about anymore. Days turned to months as I started going through the brands one by one until there were no left. I needed more. I've seen user comments on the cars in the database and I knew there were more people here like me. I joined the forums, but laid low for a while. Checking out what was going on. Weeks later I said my first words. Once again starting with the lighter stuff, one sentence replies, but moving on to longer and longer replies, starting threads, joining debates, even flaming. Gradually things got out of control. Last week I found my self spamming in a thread full of Aussies. I'm scared.

I heard it was the place where all the people who didn't suck at supercars.net were excommunicated to so I came over and joined. Then a year later I started posting. Not glamorous, but no Google involved.
