A decadence best represented by paying through the nose for an ostentatious product you neither need or can afford, but must have anyway - Lamborghini.

Yep. You essentially pay that much for a reworked VW platform because some (very intelligent) marketing gurus pretend that Audis are "premium". Which is customer confusion at it's best. Works, though, as Audi's sales ere currently rocketing into the sky.
