Correct. Well, there was no Mk1 "Golf." They were all Rabbits.

Maybe not in North America, but in Europe VW launched a Golf GTI MkI "Rabbit" in early 80's, 1982 I think. It was a cheap version of the GTI.Originally Posted by Quiggs
