    New UCP logo

Was bored again so I thought I'd play around with creating a new UCP logo.

T'was a quick jobbie and is by no means supposed to be taken too seriously. I'd still like to gauge the general reaction on it though, so I've attached a poll.

Also attached an example of it in use.

I'm a traditionalist.. it's not bad, but I don't think it fits so well.

I think both are better than the current one but not because they are that amazing but because the current one is so garbage frankly - the current fonts look like they came from the early days of the internet. I think UCP needs a font that looks professional and slick and not cheap like the current ones do.

I think this was discussed before and Wouter is hesitant to change it because he has T-Shirts and merch already designed with the current logo. The main font I guess looking again isn't great but the motto text is absolutely terrible.

    "New" isn't always better.
It appeals at the shallowest level, but change can damage it's image.
For example, Hewlett Packard logo was designed in th 50s and was updated only once. THe font barely changed and they softened the surrounds.
It has NOT changed since the 80s !!
And HP is a company that spends a lot of money having brand-awareness and identification tested.
Not sure which font Wouter did use, but you do know that the vast majority of fonts existed BEFORE the computer

It's one of the Lucida variants, bolded and italics.

I used it when I created my "Ultimatewaterpage.com" avatar.

Interestingly it's one of the default fonts (notepad, wordpad) in Windows XP, Vista and now Windows 7, so no, it doesn't come from the early days of the Internet, Kitdy.

Pfft computers made fonts. I think even though an update may not be necessary, it could bring about some better things/changes.

    And Hp is rubbish.

Oh, and how old is UCP?
