Last time only two laps. That was the first time in my Alpine, afore I'm only driven on the ring in my old E30 or with hubbys 928. It's not the same. None of them is so nice to handle in the curves...

Renault Alpine GTA V6 GT (1984-1991)

The next generation after the succesful 310-called Renault-powered Alpine production version received a completely new bodyshell, chassis and engine. The new 2+2 seat 2-door coupe was only called V6 GT. To differentiate it from the other Alpine generations it became factory-coded as GTA (Grand Tourisme Alpine) instead of a 3-digit number like its predessessors.
The new entry level model was from now on the 2.7 litre V6 with carburrettor known as top spec of the 310 but producing a maximum output of 118 kW (160 PS). Alpine also kept the typical layout of their cars with the motor mounted transversal behind the rear-axle, transmissing the power over a 5-speed manual gearbox to the rearwheels.
The curbweight of all GTA-versions stayed between 1110 and 1210 kilograms.
The engines measured displacement was 2 849 cc but it was called 2.7 litre all the time. The V6 GT was able to hit 100 km/h in 8 seconds and had a topspeed of 235 km/h.

The V6 GT has also been offered in North America. The US-specs had retractable headlights, amber frontindicators and ofcourse sidemarkers integrated in front- and rear plasic bumper-panels.

Renaut Alpine GTA V6 Turbo (1985-1991)

One year after introduction of the 2.7 V6 GT the V6 Turbo hit the market. Its engine is known from the renault 25, had a displacement of 2.5 liters, electronic fuel-injection system and a Garrett exhaust-turbocharger. It outputted 147 kW (200 PS) at 5750 rpm and was able to hit 250 km/h as you can see on picture #3. 2 years later Renault was forced by the law to equip the motor with a catalytic converter which restricted the power to 136 kW (185 PS). The maximum torque of 296 N·m (218 lb·ft) was available at 2 500 rpm.
The 1985 V6 Turbo sprinted from 0-100 km/h in 7 seconds, atleast one sec faster than the GT. Interesting is that the Turbo consumed around 2 liter less in mix than the 2.7 liter GT.
The only exterior changes were a different exhaust-endpipe and a red "Turbo"-sign on the rearside windows.

In 1989 Renault offered a limited to 100 cars version called "Mille Miles" to celebrate 35 years of the brand Alpine. The car featured several extras and delivered the power of 200 horses again and ran 252 km/h. It came with a golden plate signed with number x of 100 and had turbine-style rims with chrome-finish (image #3).

Can anyone in this forum tell me what kind of bodykit the V6 Turbo wears shown on the last 2 pics. Was it an official aero-package? the car is from 1990.
