It's official, Audi's legendary R8 racingcar is to have it's final race at Lime Rock Park, Connecticut on Saturday July 1st.

More hereOn Saturday, July 1st the Audi R8 will make its final racing appearance at Lime Rock Park in Connecticut. Audi has been running the R8 here in the States for the American Le Mans Series while the new diesel-powered R10s were preparing for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Now that Le Mans is over the R10s will be debuting in the American Le Mans Series soon.
But not before this special R8 takes to the track for the last time. The Audi R8 has an incredible 62 wins in 79 races to date, which includes five 24 Hours of Le Mans victories. The car racing at Lime Rock Park will be wearing a special design that includes the names of all 18 drivers who won a race with the R8 and the names of the 23 tracks worldwide on which an R8 won. Chances are it'll find its way to the winners circle on July 1st – the R8 is unbeaten at Lime Rock Park with three victories.
