    movies

I know I moaned about the "whats your favorite this and that" type of threads and favorite movies is not entirely original, but I want to try to start a list of your favorite "out there" type films. Not Lord of the rings or terminator but films like A clockwork Orange and things that others may not have seen that left an impression on you.
A couple of my favorites are 2001 (another Kubrik) and Blue Velvet by David Lynch. I like films that are just a bit more clever than me or ones I nearly undertand. Things that mess with you brain or are really uncomfortable to watch in a disturbing kind of way. Im having therapy for it.

Love all the Clancy films and books. Reign of Fire was a real surprise package. Not what I was expecting.

Crisis, A Clockwork Orange is a must see, the first time I tried to watch it I turned it off because there is a lot of made up langauge, that made it difficult to watch ... slang type version of russian and gypsytype references and casual rhyming of words.

But after giving it another watch, admittedly a year or so later, I realized the langauge wasn't as important as the message being portrayed. It is and has remained my all time favourite movie, aside from the fact there are still comments/phrases used that I still can't quite comprehend.

Up there in favorite movies are American History X another movie that forces you to put yourself into the main character'sworld, even moreso if you have ever known or at least been exposed to someone blinded by rascism.

And finally The Blues Brothers, cheer for the underdog !!!

So if I could only own 3 movies, this would be them.
