    Ford GT production ended

Production of the Ford GT supercar has ended. The last car was built late Thursday at the Wixom Assembly Plant, for a total run of 4,038 units. Ford announced it would be discontinuing the GT as part of its "Way Forward" plan earlier this year. The GT was first shown in concept form in 2002, and a production version was readied within 15 months. Power comes from a 550 horsepower V8, with a top speed in excess of 200 mph. Zero to 60 mph is accomplished in 3.3 seconds. The MSRP for the car was $150,000, thought buyers typically paid as much as $175,000.
It's not denial. I'm just very selective about the reality I accept.

I heard about this. I wish they would've kept it going though, but then I guess it wouldn't be as special.

Theres some sort of planned replacement. The Shelby GR-1 has been mentioned as a possibility, or something along those lines.

Why would they replace it, that would not be good for them financially.

Now what would they use the plant for?

Is the Shelby GR-1 the shiny one? I don't think that one is getting the green light.

If they were to make it, and I doubt they will, I am sure they would paint it.

According to autoweek: "The Shelby Mustang GT 500 takes over as Ford's performance flagship."
So I guess they won't try to make another vehicle at the same level as the GT.

In the show where he was testing it he said he'd ordered one, and at the end when they were discussing it, Richard Hammond was making fun of him for it. So who knows.

Yeah, Clarkson got one but subsequently sold it for a profit.
