    Intermediates might be good, but the track must be at least a bit weat.
    Remember the races when the track was drying up....all the cars which were on intermediates had to cool their tires down by driving on the weat parts of the track.

    I think they were testing some new compound of Michelin, to see how the intermediate would do on a dry track.
