Page 1 of 1 After almost two decades of planning and development work, Gerald Wiegert finally launched a production ready Vector in 1990. It was named W8, referring to its instigator and the eight cylinder engine found just behind the driver's compartment. The initial reception in the press was positive, but things quickly turned around, and not in favour of Wiegert. Unfortunately his ambition was not matched with proper funding, which affected the quality of the finished cars heavily. Eventually only a handful cars were constructed before the company finally filed for bankruptcy halfway through the 1990s. The current value of the few completed cars is less than one tenth of the original $685,000 price sticker. Page 1 of 1
