Chassis:
The tenth and last 340 MM built, this Vignale Spyder was delivered new to American gentleman racer Sterling Edwards. He debuted the car with a victory in October of 1953 in a minor event at Stead. In 1954, he also scored an outright win with his dark blue Ferrari in the Pebble Beach Road Races. At the end of the year, it was sold to another gentleman racer and it was campaigned into the 1956 season. Following a succession of American and British owners, it was acquired by David Cottingham in 1980. His specialist company, DK Engineering, subsequently completely restored the car and it was finished in a striking blue and white livery. It was then acquired by Sherman Wolf, who re-painted it red and then later on re-finished it once more to the blue and white scheme. Wolf retained the car until his death in 2012 and regularly campaigned the car in historic events on both sides of the Atlantic. Later in 2012, it was sold from his estate at auction and the next owner has since painted it red to match the rest of his vast Ferrari collection. After a decade of ownership, chassis 0350AM was consigned to the 2022 RM Sotheby's Monaco sale.
