Chassis:
The second of a pair of M3 GTRs fielded by the American Prototype Technology Group (PTG) in the 2001 American Le Mans Series, this car raced as number 6. It was usually shared by Hans-Joachim Stuck and Boris Said. For Petit Le Mans, it was finished in a patriotic livery in honour of the victims of 9/11. Stuck and Said were joined by Bill Auberlen for the occasion and the three experienced drivers managed to place eighth overall and first in the GT class. Following its retirement at the end of the 2001 season, it was pressed back into service with the PTG team in the mid-2000s but with little success. Retained by BMW North America, it has been restored to its original configuration and Petit Le Mans class winning livery.
