Chassis:
The third of just three 356 Carrera Speedsters built with right-hand drive for the Australian market, this example was completed in 1957 and delivered new to wealthy Australian hotelier. Shortly after, the car changed hands several times and by the mid 1960s had lost its original Carrera engine in favour of an easier to service 1600 OHV unit. By the mid-1980s, it was acquired by Revor Keetly, who managed to track down an original Carrera GT engine. This was fitted during a complete restoration in Australia. By the early 2010s, it was sold to the United Kingdom. Here it was restored once more by specialists Sportwagen and Maxted-Page & Prill Ltd. to its original colourscheme of Ruby Red with a black leather interior. In 2014, it was awarded 'Best of Shwo' at the Hedingham in Suffolk. In the summer of 2017, it was consigned to the annual Bonhams Goodwood Festival of Speed sale.
