Chassis:
Originally laid out as a 212 Export, the featured Vignale Berlinetta was fitted with a 225 Sport engine before it left the factory. After first being shown at a concours d'elegance, chassis 0190ET was rarely raced. Liveried in French racing blue, it took part in the 1956 Reims 12 Hours race, but with little success. It was badly damaged later in the decade and only reconstructed in the 1990s. The restorers first painted the car red, but more recently the striking blue was reapplied. In that condition it is seen above during the 2006 Bonhams Gstaad Auction where offers failed to meet the reserve set. It has since been sold to an Italian enthusiast.
